Earthscapes grew from the changing character of landscape—light moving across mountains, distant horizons, water, weather, and sky. I began simplifying what I saw, reducing the landscape to broad shapes, color, and atmosphere while retaining a sense of place.
These paintings mark a gradual movement away from description. Geography gives way to structure, color, distance, and the experience of being within a landscape.
