SHIFTING TERRAIN - VAIL PUBLIC LIBRARY | SEPTEMBER 2 - 25, 2025
Drawn from Colorado’s rugged mountains, rushing rivers and untamed forests, these works explore how nature transforms over time. Each painting captures a fleeting state—reminding us that nature is constantly shifting.
Working in oil and cold wax, I build surfaces through repeated layering, scraping, and glazing, allowing colors to merge, fracture and re-emerge. This process mirrors the erosions and renewals of the land itself. My intention is not to recreate a particular view, but to evoke the sensation of change: the way terrain dissolves into abstraction and how a single passage of color can hold both permanence and loss.
