Jami Nix Rahn (b.1955, Corpus Christi, Texas)

Jami Nix Rahn is a multifaceted artist whose practice encompasses drawing, painting, and sculpture. Born into a military family, frequent relocations were a way of life. She embarked on her artistic journey at the University of North Florida, initially focusing on Graphic Design. However, a summer trek to Europe led her to make a pivotal decision: leaving college to delve deeper into her artistic pursuits. This bold move led to a relocation to Europe, where Jami's interest in sculpture flourished. Influenced by the works of Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, and Auguste Rodin, Jami settled in Portugal, where she honed her skills in stone carving and bronze casting, learning from master artisans through intensive apprenticeships. This period marked a significant evolution in her career, solidifying her path as a professional artist dedicated to exploring diverse media and techniques.

Returning to the U.S., Jami studied painting at the Arts Students League in NYC, portraiture under the tutelage of Daniel E. Greene, PSA NA AWS, and earned a BFA from Florida Atlantic University. Jami has participated in exhibitions in U.S. and European galleries and museums, including group shows at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Naples Museum of Art, Brandeis University, Florida State University Museum, and the National Art Museum of Sport. Her works are in collections around the world.
